A custom gift box is a presentation-first package — usually a two-piece lid-and-base or a magnetic-closure rigid box — built to be kept rather than discarded. Its job is the moment of opening: a controlled lid lift, a printed interior, and often a die-cut insert that holds each item in place.
Gift packaging is judged by resistance and reveal. A well-made lid should descend under its own weight with a slight air cushion rather than dropping loose; that comes from tolerancing the lid 1.5–2 mm larger than the base and choosing a 1.2–2 mm greyboard wrap. Cheap gift boxes fail on exactly this detail.
Interiors matter as much as exteriors. A foam, moulded pulp or folded-card insert stops contents shifting, frames the product, and lets a single box hold several SKUs in a curated set. For corporate and seasonal gifting programmes, the insert is usually what turns a box into a giftable kit.
Seasonal gifting has hard deadlines, so lead time planning is part of the spec. Foil stamping, embossing and ribbon assembly each add hand-finishing time; a Q4 campaign realistically needs artwork locked 8–10 weeks before the on-shelf date.

The construction decides how the box closes, how much it protects and what it costs. These are the formats we produce most often for custom gift boxes.

Hinged flap with concealed magnets — reusable and the strongest perceived value.

Every order is cut to your interior dimensions — these are the sizes customers request most often, and a useful starting point if you are not sure where to begin.
| Size (L × W × D) | Typical use |
|---|---|
| 6 x 6 x 2 in | Jewellery, candles, single-item gifts |
| 8 x 8 x 3 in | Skincare and confectionery sets |
| 10 x 8 x 3 in | Corporate welcome kits |
| 12 x 9 x 4 in | Multi-item hampers and bundles |

The insert dictates the internal dimensions. Sizing the box first almost always means re-tooling.
Foil on a soft-touch matte reads more expensive than three competing effects on gloss.
Hand-finished gift boxes need artwork locked 8–10 weeks before an on-shelf date in Q4.
Pre-assembled rigid boxes ship air; collapsible versions can halve landed cost on large orders.
We manufacture for brands in 24 markets. Prices below are for one pack of 100 boxes at the standard specification. Delivery is free everywhere except Japan, where air freight is quoted separately.

The headline price includes local VAT or GST where that market requires it. If you are VAT-registered you reclaim that, so the excl. tax column is your real cost. US and Canadian prices add sales tax at invoicing instead. Volume pricing improves at 250, 500, 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 units — see wholesale custom boxes for the volume tiers.
