"Cardboard box" is the everyday term covering both corrugated shippers and solid paperboard cartons. In practice it means a printed paper-based box used for shipping, storage or retail — light, recyclable, and available in almost any size because the tooling is a flat cutting die rather than a mould.
- Any size, no mould cost. Flat cutting dies mean custom dimensions cost a fraction of moulded packaging tooling.
- Lower dimensional weight. A box sized to the product removes void fill and the carrier surcharges that come with it.

What are custom cardboard boxes?
The first question on any cardboard box order is which material family you actually need. Corrugated (fluted) board gives strength for transit and storage; solid paperboard gives a smoother print surface for retail cartons. Ordering the wrong one is the difference between a box that stacks and a box that buckles.
Custom sizing is the main reason brands leave stock cartons behind. A box that fits the product removes void fill, cuts dimensional weight charges from carriers, and lowers damage rates — savings that routinely exceed the price difference over a stock size within a few thousand units.
Cardboard also reuses well. Adding a second adhesive strip and a return tear line turns a shipper into a returns carton, which retailers increasingly expect for apparel and electronics. It costs a few cents and removes a whole reverse-logistics headache.

What is the difference between cardboard and corrugated?
Corrugated board has a fluted medium sandwiched between two liners and is used for shipping and storage. Solid cardboard or paperboard is a single dense layer, smoother to print, and used for retail cartons. "Cardboard box" colloquially covers both.
Can I order cardboard boxes in a completely custom size?
Yes. Tooling is a flat cutting die, so any length, width and depth is possible with no mould cost. Give us interior dimensions and we handle board allowance and crease positions.
How much can a custom cardboard box hold?
A standard 32 ECT single-wall carton carries roughly 20 kg; 44 ECT carries about 30 kg; double-wall grades go considerably higher. We specify against your packed weight with a safety margin.
Are cardboard boxes waterproof?
Not inherently. A water-based moisture-resistant coating or a wax-alternative barrier improves performance in damp conditions while keeping the box recyclable, unlike full poly lamination.
What is the minimum order for custom cardboard boxes?

Can cardboard boxes be reused for returns?
